The League of Women Voters of Athens County is hosting candidate forums for the Athens County Commissioner and Treasurer races in preparation for the November General Election. Candidates Charlie Adkins and Jon Rose will participate in the Athens County Commissioner forum on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 6:30 pm. Candidates Dawn Deputy and Taylor Sappington will participate in the Athens County Treasurer forum on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 6:30 pm. Both events will be held at the Athens Community Center. The public is invited to attend these events, and pose questions for the candidates.
Questions are also being taken in advance by email. Please send your questions to AthensCountyAsks@gmail.com at least 24 hours prior to the event. Questions will also be taken from the audience and press during the event.
Both Forums can also be viewed live on the City of Athens Facebook page and the City of Athens YouTube channel. Recordings will be posted on the League’s Facebook page and website following the live events.
The League of Women Voters of Athens County contacted all candidates in the races for Athens County Commissioner, Athens County Treasurer, the Ohio House of Representatives 94th District and the Ohio House of Representatives 95th District. We are excited that all candidates in the Commissioner and Treasurer races are able to participate. In the House races, only one candidate in each district accepted our invitation, so we are disappointed that we cannot hold forums for those House races.
