ATHENS- Susan Elizabeth Erwin Keirns, 72, of Athens, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023 (the birth date of her mother) at OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital, Athens, with her family by her side. Born Dec. 15, 1951 in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Carl E. Erwin and Mary E. Mills Erwin.
A 1970 graduate of Alexander High School (1st graduating class at the new high school), she dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. In addition to her family, she enjoyed shopping at thrift stores and yard sales, electronic games, crocheting and gardening.
Susan is survived by her daughter, Maryann (Ike) Weiss of Athens; her son, Danny (Amy) Keirns of Athens; four grandchildren, Brandon Stover, Nathan Stover, Breanna (Josh) Greenlee and Daniel Keirns IV; a sister, Joyce Martin of Glouster; a brother, Jerry (Marilyn “Janie”) Erwin of Athens; sister in law, Betty Erwin; brother in law, Jerry Martin; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; a special niece, Bridget Stover; and a special nephew, Bradley Jack.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by three sisters, Carma (Wayne) Jack, Becky Campbell and Kathy Martin; three brothers, Paul Erwin, Ronnie (Donna) Erwin and Kenny (Phyllis) Erwin.
