ATHENS- Patricia C. Rice, 79 of Athens, passed away, Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024 at her home with her family. Born Oct. 19, 1944 in Mason, WV, she was the daughter of the late William Kingsley Musser and Ruth F. Pickens Musser.
She attended Athens High School and was employed at the State Farm Insurance Agency in Athens as an officer manager. She had also worked as a home health care aide. She was a 4H Advisor with the Good, Better and Best Club. She was a member of the Cornerstone Harvest Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, crocheting, her flower gardens, and traveling, especially to the Amish Country.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 61 years, Clifton J. Rice; a daughter, Teresa (Allen) Hall of Frankfort; two sons, Tim (Amber) Rice of Ashville and Travis Rice of Athens; seven grandchildren, Alexis, Austen, Kennedy, Marisa, McKena, Tyler and Margaret; two great grandchildren, Rhett and Festus; a sister, Ruby Henderson of Columbus; a brother, John (Dixie) Musser of Pomeroy; and her pet companion, Sandy.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Rudy W. Musser. Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, Jan. 11th at 6:00 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Pastor Linda Berry and Buford Brown officiating.
