THE PLAINS- Susan Marie Rowan-Mackie, 56, of The Plains died late Wednesday evening, Feb. 14, 2024 at The Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus. Born July 15, 1967 in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Charles J. Rowan and Beverlee J. Collins Rowan.
A 1985 graduate of Athens High School, she attended Hocking College. She was employed at McBee Corp., and in medical coding at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital and the Appalachian Community Behavioral Health Center.
Susan enjoyed supporting her nieces and nephew in their activities, brunch with her girlfriends, sprint car racing, Columbus Blue Jackets, and her two dogs, Tucker and Maggie.
Susan is survived by her husband, Steve Mackie; a sister, Sarah Jane (Gareth) Rowan-Williams of The Plains; two brothers, Richard “Clyde” (Julie) Rowan of The Plains and John Rowan of The Plains; nieces and nephew, Hannah & Jeremiah Rowan and Lindsay Rowan; and a special friend, Pam Young of Athens.
