Road construction
- County crews are removing trees and brush on Oakdale Road (CR 31) and Fisher Road (CR 17); ditching on North Longview Heights Road (CR 83); and dragging county roads in Amesville.

- Get up to 50 pounds of seed or baking potatoes for free at Community Food Initiatives’ annual seed potato giveaway on March 20. Attendees can take home 10–50 pounds of seed or baking potatoes for free.
- Register for a weekend immersed in the art, music and culture of Central Appalachia at the second Happy Hollow Hootenanny, May 30–June 2 at the Snow Fork Event Center in York Township.
Government
- The City of Athens has posted a list of unclaimed funds on the first floor of the city building, 8 W. Washington St., and at the Athens Community Center, 701 E. State St. The city is attempting to notify anyone who is owed $50 or more by mail. Funds must be claimed by Wednesday, March. 6.
- The City of Athens is accepting bids for ATH-Uptown Area Improvements, Phase 1 Project, ODOT PID 111668, City Project #329 until 1:30 PM March 19, when they will be publicly opened and read aloud. The project includes pavement marking updates and improvements to signals, lighting, sidewalks and accessibility improvements on State, Mill, Washington and Union streets in the Uptown area. The city engineer’s estimated base bid is $2.3 million.
- The U.S. Forest Service is planning prescribed burns in the Wayne National Forest this spring, totaling about 1,013 acres near Buchtel and Chauncey on West Bailey, Big Bailey and Utah Ridge roads and SR 685. The exact date(s) of a burn are determined by weather conditions; when a burn is approved, the forest service will post the date(s) on its Facebook page and firefighters will notify residents, a spokesperson said.
