Dog of the Week: Jenny

1-31-24, fem. terrier mx, ~1-2yo, 38#, FOUND on Hooper Ridge, near intersection with Sanders Rd.

If you don’t look closely, you might mistake Jenny for a pure white piglet. This short and stocky lady is just too cute with her pot belly and pink skin peeking through her fur.

Jenny clearly has weathered some rough patches in life that she is still healing from. She was found in a live trap on someone’s property. She most likely wandered in looking for food.

When Jenny came into the shelter, she was extremely scared and confused. You had to really coax her to come out of the kennel and she would freeze outside on the leash. Despite such intense fear, Jenny was never once aggressive. Jenny has amazed us with how quickly she has learned to trust again. It helps that she loves treats!

Now, Jenny waits at the front of the kennel to be walked and gives the cutest tail wags. Jenny is also learning to trust other dogs and especially enjoys wrestling and walking with her shelter mate, Duff.

Jenny has grown so much in the shelter, but she needs to be in a home environment to truly feel secure and learn how much fun life has to offer. To set up an appointment to meet shelter dogs, call (740) 593-5415.
