AMESVILLE- Norma Lee Sayre, age 92, of Amesville died Thursday afternoon, June 13, 2024 at the home of her son & daughter in law in Stewart. Born April 28, 1932 in Athens County, she was the daughter of the late Eldon Kasler and Maude Sayers Kasler.
A graduate of Ames-Bern High School, she was a bookkeeper for Copper Plumbing Company and a home maker in the family home. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, mowing her yard and especially her grandchildren.
Norma is survived by two sons, Mick (Karen) Harris of Amesville and Jerry (Carol) Harris of Stewart; her daughter in law Rita Harris of Old Town, FL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Darlene Parsons of Chesterhill; and several nieces, and nephews.
Beside her parents she is preceded in death by her husband (the love of her life since 1980), Harold Sayre, who passed August 16, 2021; a son, Rick Harris; and an infant sister, Stella Kasler.
It was her wish that there be no calling hours, The family will hold a private ceremony with interment in the Hooper Ridge Cemetery, Ames Township. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Athens for the loving care of Norma the past few days, and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to OhioHealth Home Care and Hospice, 444 W.
