Melissa A. Brunton Elkins, 62 of Lancaster passed away Friday, June 14, 2024, at the Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster. Born Aug. 5, 1961, in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late James L. and Janet K. Grandy Brunton. She was an accountant for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service in Whitehall. Missy loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, was an avid Ohio State football fan, and also enjoyed camping, fishing, and playing solitaire.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Elkins II and Joshua (Sheri) Elkins; two daughters, Janet (Chris) Kirkpatrick and Samantha (Sam) Shaeffer; 13 grandchildren; a brother, James L. Brunton Jr.; sisters, Debbie (Tom) Newsome and Nancy (Ronald) Westhoven; a special friend and sister-in-law, Mary Brunton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, 6525 S. State Route 78, Glouster, Ohio 45732 with Jon Hanning officiating. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
