Geraldine C. “Gerry” Hamilton

GLOUSTER, Ohio — Geraldine C. “Gerry” Hamilton, 82, of Glouster, formerly of Detroit, passed away Saturday, Aug. 25, 2024, at the Arbors of Pomeroy after an extended illness. Born August 24, 1942, in Detroit, she was the daughter of the late William and Helen Krzwiecki Margalski.

Gerry worked at DuPont in Detroit and was a home health aide until she retired and moved to Glouster. Gerry loved her family, her pets, a good laugh, playing bingo and cards, and enjoyed good music and a draft beer. 

She is survived by her sisters, Patricia Bryja and Carol Deras of Arizona and Mary Ann Alexander of Glouster; a brother, Tom Margalski of Arizona; special nieces Angela Gates of Nevada, Anita (John) Brunton and Amanda Alexander, both of Glouster; and several other nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Hamilton; a sister, Cecilia Patalon; a brother, Gary Margalski; brothers-in-law Walter Bryja, Jerry Patalon, Charles Alexander, and Arthur “Pinky” Deras; and nephews Chuck and Jim Alexander.

Gerry’s wishes were to be cremated and a private graveside service will be held by her family at a later date.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville. A message of comfort may be sent to the family at www.morrisonfc.com.
