CANAANVILLE- Sharon Faith (Skinner) Christy, age 81 of Canaanville, Ohio, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Sharon was born on February 26, 1943 in Canaanville, Ohio. She was the daughter of Armour Woodrow Wilson Skinner and Anna Mae (Wade) Skinner.
She married her loving husband of 62 years, Robert Carl Christy, on August 4, 1962. Together they raised three wonderful children: Robert Micah Christy of Canaanville, Ohio; Malissa (David) Gilkey-Chase of Albany, Ohio; and Anne Marie (Scott) Shepherd of Hillsboro, Ohio.
Sharon was a strong Christian, and her faith and family were her great joys in life. She spent many years traveling with her husband to Tucson, Arizona where she loved to hike and adventure. She is remembered and celebrated by her family and friends as the most kind and gentle person, who was truly a blessing to those around her and instilled so many fun memories of family meals, road trips, and sleepovers.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; her sisters Lyle Ann Hudnell of Lakeland, FL and Toni Melissa Elmer of Meigs County; her son and daughters; her loving nephews Ronald Christy and Samuel Hudnell; grandsons Grant Shepherd and Wesley (Emma), Benjamin (Claire) and Elijah (Abigail) Gilkey; and two great-granddaughters Ruby Faith and Ella Marie Gilkey.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Tyka Beth Parry and Crystal Cecilia Skinner.
