Mary Kay Six, 88 of Murray City, passed away Sunday September 29, 2024, at her residence. Born April 28, 1936, in Athens County, she was the daughter of the late Russell W. and Bernice G. (Mohney) McDonald. She graduated from Buchtel High School in 1954. She was a secretary at Murray City Elementary School and later retired from Alden Library at Ohio University.
She is survived by two sons, Mark E. Six and Dannie R. Six, both of Murray City; a daughter, Lora L. (Jim) Hanning of Sterling City, TX; grandchildren, Shaun (Beth) Six, Josh (Amanda) Swope, Trey (Culley) Wilson, Adam (Renee) Wilson, Brittany (Ryan) Cunningham, Kyle (Paige) Six; step granddaughter, Jamie (Chad) Geil; 17 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a brother, Terry (Kristie) McDonald; a sister, Sharon (Garry) Dunkle; a brother-in-law, Jan Six; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Eugene Six; a daughter, Kathy Swope; and a brother, Richard McDonald.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday October 4, 2024, at the Whitmore Cemetery, Buchtel with Debbie Koons officiating. Contributions can be made in Kay’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, PO Box 1000, Memphis, TN 38148. Arrangements have been entrusted to Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville.
