THE PLAINS- Catherine Mae Boggs, 89, of The Plains formerly of Guysville, died Wednesday morning, October 16, 2024 at The Lindley Inn, The Plains. Born April 1, 1935 in Stewart, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Deeter and Edith Mae Bretz Deeter.
A 1953 graduate of Rome Canaan High School, she was employed at Athens County Jobs and Family Services for 30 years. She retired in 1987. After retirement, she assisted her late husband in the operation of Boggs’ Sales and Services. She was a member of Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Belpre. She was a former member of the Stewart United Methodist Church and Rebecca Lodge.
Catherine is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, S. Lowell Boggs who passed December 12, 2009; three sisters, Ruth Apple, Marguerite Starkey and Virginia Cole; and a brother, Arthur James Deeter.
Funeral service will be conducted Monday, October 21st at 12:00 noon at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Rev. Rick Hastings officiating. Burial will be in Coolville Cemetery, Coolville.
