Debra Kay DeGarmore

Debra Kay DeGarmore was born in Corning, Ohio on August 1rst, 1953.  We lost my dear mother quietly on February 13, 2025 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents Nelson and Freda DeGarmore and a brother Bruce DeGarmore.  She is forever in memory with her loving daughter Meagan Martin, loving grandsons Gabriel and Zayden Martin, her loving sister Karen DeGarmore, and her brother David (Lois) DeGarmore, 4 Nephews, 2 nieces, several great – nephews and nieces, cousins, and friends.

If I were to paint an image of the words Love and Strength it would be of my Mother.  She graduated high school from South High in Columbus, Ohio and on to become a member of the UAW.  She was a very hard worker and laborer for 40 years until her retirement from Cooper Standard Automotive.

At the sweet age of 33 my mother gave birth to me and from that moment on I was by her literal side for more years than most.  She made a life with me and for me and she crushed it, my role model.  She was my number one supporter through her struggles and mine.  During her free time she enjoyed relaxing environments, music, cruising back roads, and good soulful conversations with family and friends.  She has given many wisdom and strength.  She was also a very proud and supportive grandmother.  Gabriel lit up here life!

My mother always said “If life was fair blind people could see” and how true that feels now that she can not be within sight, but I know she an angel flying high and guiding thee and won her last fight.

Please remember her for whom she was and shall always truly be.

At her request there will be no funeral or services.
