GUYSVILLE- Rebecca Louise Schirtzinger, 85, of Guysville died Monday afternoon, February 17, 2025 at Laurels of Athens. Born December 11, 1939 in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Carl Wesley Lind, Sr. and Lucille Rebecca Culp Lind.
A 1957 graduate of Hilliard High School, she retired from the Automobile Club Insurance Company of Columbus and Ohio University as a clerical specialist. She attended Vanderhoof Baptist church and was a volunteer at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital.
Rebecca is survived by a daughter, Rebecca (Glenn) Osborne of Guysville; a son, James E. Schirtzinger, Jr. of Athens; five grandchildren, Martha Harness, Jason (Christy) Harness, Glenn “Woody” Osborne, Jr., Joseph Osborne, and Zachary Osborne; ten great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; a sister, Laura Guilliams of Newcomerstown; and a brother, Carl E. Lind, Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, James E. Schirtzinger, who died in 1999; a daughter, Jayne Harness; a grandson, David Harness; a sister, Mary Lou Hayes; and a sister in law, Judy Lind.
Funeral service will be conducted Friday, February 21, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Joe Rader officiating. Burial will be in Alexander Cemetery, Hebbardsville.
