With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our dear Carolyn Hardy, who left us peacefully on February 24, 2025, at 3:16pm in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was 77 years old.
Born on September 25, 1947, Carolyn lived a full and meaningful life, filled with love and an unwavering devotion to her family and friends. As a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she brought warmth and kindness to all who knew her.
Carolyn shared a special bond with her husband, Samuel. Together, they built a life full of shared adventures, laughter, and memories. Whether gardening, crafting, or traveling, they did everything together, creating a partnership that was the foundation of their happiness.
In 2010, she retired from Trimble Local School District after 31 years of service. Carolyn held a deep passion for gardening, where she found peace and fulfillment in being outdoors in the sunshine tending to her flowers and plants. She was an avid crafter, creating beautiful, handmade treasures.
Carolyn was also a deeply loving mother to her three children: Sam, Charles, and Kristen. Her children were her pride and joy, and her guidance, compassion, and strength shaped the people they are today. Carolyn’s love for her family was immeasurable, and her bond with her children was unbreakable.
Growing up, she was an amazing older sister who took care of her younger siblings getting them dressed and ready for school, cooking breakfast, and protecting them fiercely. Her family and friends will forever remember her as the heart of the family, always offering a kind word, a warm hug, and the wisdom of her years. Her infectious laughter and gentle spirit will be greatly missed.
Carolyn is survived by her husband Sam Hardy, her children Sam (Lisa) Hardy of Glouster; Kristen Hardy of Glouster; Charles (Kim) Hardy of Glouster; grandchildren: Baylee (Charles) Faires, Todd Fouts Jr., Lexee Fouts, Ashley (Terry) Simerly, Haley Hardy, Wesley (Lexi) Hardy, Amanda Hardy, Charles (Brianna) Hardy, Jacob Hardy, Hannah Hawley, Abbie Hawley; great grandchildren: Callie, Evelina, Wayland, Laney, Kai, and Phoebe. A brother Steve (Annelie) Vernon, sisters Cathy (John) Sayers, Bev Meade, Jane (Sam) Kamento, Jo (Jan) McClelland. She had many special nieces and nephews as well. She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Barbara Vernon.
Our family wanted to include a thank you to our Glouster Church of Christ family for being with us in our time of need. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 28, from 4-6pm, at Morrison’s Funeral Chapel, where we will celebrate Carolyn’s life and the many memories she leaves behind. Following services, there will be a dinner held at the Glouster Church of Christ.
Carolyn will be forever cherished in our hearts and remembered for the love and beauty she brought into our lives.
