Indy policy update: The Athens County Independent’s Commentary policy now includes cutoff dates for submission of letters to the editor or op-ed pieces related to particular candidates for office or ballot issues. The last day to submit letters regarding people or issues on the May 6 ballot is Tuesday, April 15.

- The City of Nelsonville announces that Scott Street will be closed from Pleasantview Avenue to Fort Street starting at 7 a.m., Monday, Feb. 24, until 5 p.m. this Thursday, March 6. There will be two traffic signals on Pleasantview Avenue which is being used as a detour. The roadway is being closed for the installation of new sanitary sewer lines. Please avoid this area and use an alternate route.

- International Women’s Day Symposium: Ohio University welcomes the public to its fifth annual International Women’s Day Symposium at 11 a.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, March 5, featuring speaker Dr. Carolyn Finney and a presentation from students in the Women and Gender Studies program. - Trans/queer birthing cohort: Embodied Birth Class begins a four-week cohort on March 11, a series for trans/queer gestating people and their birth support led by Ash Dasuqi that is framed through the lens of decolonized community-building. Register here.
- Fresh produce boxes: Chesterhill Produce Auction Buying Club supports local farmers by sharing their fresh produce and other goods weekly with members of its CSA program, which operates May through October. Box sizes and pricing varies. Sign up here by April 28.
