Bernard D. Williams

Bernard D. Williams, 80 of Athens, passed away Friday April 25, 2025, at his residence.  He was born on November 19, 1944, in Athens County. 

Bernie was an Air Force Veteran who served during the Vietnam era. He formerly worked as an iron worker in the Dayton area before owning his own lawn care service. Later, he retired from RSVP Transportation in Athens County. He was a member of The Plains V.F.W. #7174. Bernie spent his leisure time fishing, playing cards, attending horse races, and listening to music.

He is survived by his companion of 18 years, Christine “Flower” Parsley; and his sister, Sharon Ulsenheimer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clair Williams; his mother, Clarice Porter Williams Shields; a sister, Debbie Cline; and brothers, Barry Shields and Danny Williams.

Bernie’s wishes were to be cremated and have his cremated remains scattered at Little Big Horn in Montana.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville.  A message of comfort may be sent by visiting the tribute wall at www.morrisonfc.com.
