Thomas E. Shifflet Sr., 88 of Glouster, passed away Monday June 16, 2025, at his residence. He was born on December 28, 1936, in Athens County, a son of the late Theodore and Margaret Freeman Shifflet. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and retired after 50 years from Carborundum. He was a member of the #10 Holiness Mission and the Jacksonville Senior Citizens.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years Beverly Sawyer Shifflet; a son Thomas E. Shifflet Jr.; four daughters, Cindy Shifflet, Rebecca (John) Oskey Richards, Jody (Dave) Dearth, and Tammy (Jimmy Childs) Gura; grandchildren Carletta, Chris, Debra, Toni Lynn, Summer, Little Dave, Matt, Kristin, Chelsie, Landon, and Tammy; 18 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a brother Bob Shifflet; two sisters Kathy Rainer and Margie Adams; a sister-in-law Bonnie Shifflet; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Sylvester, John, James and David; sisters Helen, Mary Jane, Naomi, and Shirley; a grandson Chad Eric Shifflet; a great grandson Cameron Carr; and sons-in-law Jeff Gura and Tony Oskey.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday June 21, 2025, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville, with Donald Hadaway officiating. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster, where there will be a military graveside service conducted by the United States Air Force and the Combined Color Guard Unit. A visitation will take place on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
