City of Athens
- City Project # 365: The City of Athens invites bids for a project creating a shared-use path on the west side of Columbus Road, including walks, curbs, proper slopes, widths, and detectable warnings to improve accessibility for individuals with disabilities. Apply by 10 a.m. on Monday, July 7.
- City Project #383: The City of Athens invites bids to relocate existing overhead utilities along Carpenter Street, West State Street, and Mill Street into underground facilities and make signal improvements within the uptown area. Apply by 1 p.m. on Friday, June 27.
Traffic
- Ohio Department of Transportation:
- U.S. 33 and SR 682 roundabout: Traffic maintained by flaggers on SR 682. Right shoulder closed on U.S. 33 westbound. SR 682 ramp to U.S. 33 westbound closed April 1 through Aug. 1. Estimated completion: Oct. 31.
- Nelsonville:
- The City of Nelsonville will be paving and redoing concrete on the following streets: West Washington Street (from the roundabout to West Canal Street), Canal Street (From West Washington to the South Y), Burr Oak Boulevard (from East Canal Street to Mason City Hill). The street project is scheduled to begin in July and last for several months. To ease disruptions, the project will be completed block-by-block. Please be prepared for varying levels of inconvenience during this project. Some may not be impacted at all while some may experience delay or route changes. Though the project is set to begin in July, the City has not yet been given exact estimates of when crews will be operating in various areas. The City is engaged with ODOT in finalization of the logistics plan for the project. Additional information will be released on the City webpage, social media sites and local media as it becomes available.

- Seeking educators interested in studying Lyme: The Appalachian Ohio Tick Project Workshop is for middle and high school educators and scheduled for June 26–27 at Ohio University’s Zanesville campus, offering hands-on training in laboratory techniques and teaching advanced techniques to collect, identify and test ticks for pathogens.
