Rose is almost too sweet for this world. When she came into the loud shelter, she curled up in a ball and refused to move. Volunteers had to carry her to the yard for each day. Thankfully Rose loves people and other dogs, so she quickly learned the routine and fell in love with the volunteers. When you walk by her kennel, Rose starts wagging her tail and as you get closer her whole butt wiggles in excitement. It is just the most endearing and genuine response.
Rose is so lucky to have scored an awesome foster home with a human who has helped sensitive dogs gain confidence before. She also has dog and cat friends there. Although she is improving, she still feels overwhelmed by fear at times. But in this environment, she has learned to walk well on the leash, loves playing with her foster siblings, and absolutely savors time next to her handler. She also has an award-winning sploot!
Rose is such a lovely girl, and we want her to find an equally wonderful owner. If you meet these criteria, please call The Athens County Dog Shelter at 740-593-5415 to meet Rose. Cannot adopt? Consider fostering. You can fill out an application at: www.fosdathens.com/foster
