Sweet Murphy is still just a kid, but he is stuck growing up in the shelter after being found as a stray. True to his age, Murphy is exuberant and full of fun, but he also knows when to calm down and pay attention. When volunteers get Murphy from his kennel, he is stoked to be outside and pulls at first. If you work with him, he walks well on the leash demonstrating his strong desire to please his handler and “learn the rules.” Murphy is more than willing to put in the work, especially for string cheese. He makes wonderful eye contact and is always very patient with his treats.
Murphy is currently recovering from his neuter surgery and has been enjoying the slower pace of life, including walks with lots of careful sniffing. Volunteers love his sweet smile and adorable freckles and say that he especially enjoys being brushed. In this back-to-school season, consider Murphy who will be a top-notch student and friend.
