The City of Athens announces that Stimson Avenue Bridge will operate as one-way inbound only beginning the afternoon Monday, Aug. 25, until 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12.
During this time, all traffic on Stimson Avenue Bridge will be permitted inbound to Athens only. Motorists exiting Athens should use East State Street, Richland Avenue, or Columbus Road as alternate routes.
This temporary change is part of the ongoing Stimson Avenue Bridge re-decking project, which has reduced the bridge to a single lane of traffic controlled by a traffic signal. The City apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
