- Ohio Department of Transportation:
- U.S. 33 and SR 682 roundabout: SR 682 at U.S. 33. Open with flaggers. The right shoulder is closed on U.S. 33 westbound. Off ramp from U.S. 33 west to SR 682 closed. Use the non-interchange exit for Chauncey then turn right onto North Plains Road. Estimated completion: Oct. 31.
- U.S. 50 RCUT: Reduced collision U-turn construction is taking place on U.S. 50 at Coolville. Lane closures are in place in both directions. Estimated completion: Oct. 31.
- U.S. 33 Athens-Meigs expansion: Motorists may encounter flaggers at the highway’s intersections with Pleasant Hill, Pleasanton and Rainbow Lake roads, as well as SR 681. Estimated completion: 2028.
- Nelsonville:
- Canal Street project: Road closures will continue at Old U.S. Highway 33, East Canal Street, West Canal Street, West Washington Street, Burr Oak Blvd., and Happy Hollow Road. Lane closures in place. Estimated completion: Oct. 31.
- Hocking Parkway on game days: Parkway will be closed to traffic between both ends of Loop Road 11 a.m.–6 p.m. during 2025 Hocking College home football games. Please avoid this area and use an alternative route on these dates.
- Game day schedule, all Saturdays: Sept. 20, Oct. 4, Oct. 18, Oct. 25, Nov. 8.

- Donate blood: Athens County Health Department will host a blood drive 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4. Donors receive a free Peanuts t-shirt. OSU Extension Conference Room, 278 W. Union St., Athens.
- Village of Chauncey office closures: The Village of Chauncey office will be closed Friday, Sept. 5 and will reopen 9 a.m. Tuesday Sept. 9.
- Athens Friends and Newcomers: The nonprofit social club for women will hold its annual fall reception 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 11. The event will be held at the ACC and is open to all. Email rebeccadaustin@gmail.com to register no later than 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7.
- Summer energy assistance program: The Ohio Department of Development and Hocking Athens Perry Community Action announced that the Home Energy Assistance Program will conclude its summer services Sept. 30.
