ATHENS, Ohio –– The Fire Department will be flushing and testing hydrants Friday September 5, 10am-4pm on the following streets:
- Blick Ave.
- First St.
- Brown Ave.
- Herrold Ave.
- S. Shafer St.
- Factory St.
- W. Union St.
- W. State St.
You may experience discolored water due to iron sediment stirred up from increased flow, but the water remains safe. No boil order will be issued for hydrant flushing, but the City recommends you do not wash laundry during this time.
