ATHENS, Ohio –– Laura Ann Summerville-Pyle, 62, of Athens died Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. Born May 31, 1963, in Jacksonville, Florida, she was the daughter of Linda Young Shuman Lee of Tampa, Florida, and the late Samuel Shuman.
A 1981 graduate of Jackson High School (Florida), she was a dental lab technician. She had worked at several dental labs including Dr. Elias Lab and DCS Laboratory in Florida. She enjoyed fishing, boating, her friends, hunting shark teeth on the beach, and all outdoor activities.
Laura Ann is survived by her husband, Rodney Pyle; three sons, Keith (Teena) Diot of Callahan, Fla., Roy (Katie) Summerville of Gulf Port, MS and Richard (Faye) Summerville of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Swaim Shuman of Kingston, GA and Eddie (Stephanie) Lee of Tampa, Fla. And their children, Noah and McKenna; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and her mother in law, Clara Ledford and her partner, Larry Klingelsmith of Athens.
