
NELSONVILLE, Ohio –– David W. Rutter, 59, passed away Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, at his residence in Nelsonville.
Born in Nelsonville April 2, 1966, he was the son of the late Robert and Delores Spears Rutter. He was considered a “jack of all trades.” David enjoyed hunting for ginseng and yellowroot.
He is survived by two daughters, Michelle (Steven) Kellar-Spears of Corning, and Leesha Santek of Columbus; three brothers, John Eugene Rutter of Glouster, Rick (Judy) Rutter of Zanesville, and Roger Rutter of Nelsonville; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Duncan Rutter; sons, Jimmy and Kevin Kellar; two brothers, Tommy and Steve Rutter; a sister, Carolyn Rutter; and his special companion of many years, Penny Abrams.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with Jon Hanning officiating. Interment will be in the Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield. A visitation will take place Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
