MT. VERNON, Kentucky –– Candice S. Withem, 75, of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, formerly of Glouster, Ohio, went Home to meet Jesus Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
She was a beautiful and quiet soul who loved her Lord, and loved serving in her church and community. She was married for 59 years to the love of her life, Allan. From that blessed union came two children, Allan of Elyria, OH and Melissa (Thomas) Wagner of Mt Vernon, KY.
Candi spent 20 years working with Rural Action, beginning as a Vista Volunteer then becoming the Director of the AmeriCorp program where she met lifelong friends, including one special friend, Shannon Stewart.
Candi leaves behind to cherish her memory as her forever love, Allan; son, Allan; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Tommy; one grandson, Logan; sister, Marjorie Goetsch; and sister-in-law, Janet Peach. Candi also is left to be remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues.
Those who preceded her in death are her father, Louis Gray; mother, Gertrude (Trudy) Gray; and many family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Cornerstone United Pentecostal Church of Nelsonville, Ohio. The burial will follow the funeral services at Carbon Hill Cemetery in Carbon Hill, Ohio.
Calling hours will be observed on Friday, February 6, from 2–4 p.m. and from 6–8 p.m. at the Cornerstone United Pentecostal Church, as well as 1 p.m. until time of service Saturday, Feb. 7.
