ATHENS, Ohio –– The City of Athens announces Franklin Avenue will be closed from Spring Street to Madison Avenue, and Madison Avenue southbound lane will be closed from Spring Street to State Street Thursday, Feb. 12. The work will begin at 8:30 a.m. until complete for a water main repair. There will be no thru or emergency traffic. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
