ATHENS, Ohio – From April 13–17, City of Athens residents may place an unlimited number of trash bags at the curb on their regular trash pickup day at no additional cost. Please have all items set out before 7 a.m. on your collection day.
Larger items may also be placed at the curb during your regular pickup without calling to schedule. Please note that special haul rates will still apply for large items. The following items will NOT be accepted at the curb:
- Building materials
- Tires
- Liquids
For yard waste, call the Engineering and Public Works Department at 740-592-3343 to arrange normal pickup.
Dumpsters will be available at the Service Garage (387 W. State St.) for trash and scrap metal (no construction debris). Residents may drop off items free of charge 7:30 a.m–3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
You must bring a photo ID or a copy of your utility bill to verify Athens residency.
