Athens City Parking Garage using new system starting Monday, May 18

ATHENS, Ohio — The City of Athens announces that starting Monday, May 18, the Athens City Parking Garage, 15 E. Washington St., will be using a new payment system.

Parking meters and the Park Smarter app will no longer be in use in the garage.

How It Works

Enter the garage.

Stop at the gate and take a ticket from the kiosk.

Park your vehicle. Take your ticket with you.

Pay before returning to your car.

Use a pay station located on the first floor near the elevators, or on the upper level of the first floor near the stairs.

Payment options at pay stations:

  • Cash.
  • Validation coupon.
  • Credit card (small processing fee applies).

Forgot to pay at a pay station?

You may still pay at the exit gate, using credit card only.

Important notes

  • Lost or misplaced tickets will result in an additional fee.
  • Be sure to keep your ticket with you.

Parking rates

  • $1 per hour up to 10 hours.
  • $20 daily, over 10 hours; resets every 24 hours.
  • Free parking on Sundays and holidays
