Recovery Connections of Southeast Ohio ceasing operations

ATHENS, Ohio — Recovery Connections of Southeast Ohio (RCSEO) will cease operations due to the lack of sustainable funding.

RCSEO was founded in 2021, as a peer-run organization serving Athens, Hocking, and Vinton Counties, to support individuals in recovery from substance use disorders, RCSEO has provided peer support services, community outreach, and programs designed to foster connection, purpose, and long-term recovery. Over the years, the organization has worked to reduce stigma, expand access to recovery resources, and build a stronger, more supportive recovery community across Southeast Ohio.

Programs such as peer support services, pro-social activities, and Drop-In Hours in Nelsonville and Athens have offered safe, supportive spaces for individuals in recovery. RCSEO has also partnered with several local organizations and agencies.

RCSEO will work to connect participants with other local resources during the transition. Operations will begin winding down on June 1, 2026, with full closure anticipated by June 30, 2026.
