Ohio Department of Transportation
- U.S. 33 Athens-Meigs expansion: Two-lane to four-lane expansion from Athens to Darwin and Five Points to Ravenswood. Estimated completion: 2028.
- Shoulders are closed and side roads are closed intermittently for equipment crossing on U.S. 33 between Rocksprings Road and Oxley Road through 2028. Rolling road blocks will be in place when rock blasting is occurring.
- Passing lane closed in both directions between Oxley Road and Pleasant Hill Road through June 1, 2027.
- Pleasanton Road closed through Nov. 20; detour is Old U.S. 33 to Pleasant Hill Road.
- Lane closures are in place in both directions on the four-lane section between Pleasanton Road and Rocksprings Road through Aug. 31.
- A 13-foot width restriction is in place at Pleasanton Road on U.S. 33; construction vehicles are periodically crossing both lanes of traffic, temporary signals and flaggers are in place intermittently through Nov. 20.
- SR 329 resurfacing: Zimmerman Hill Road and State Street maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: June 30.
- SR 682 sidewalk project: 5th Street to the SR 682/U.S. 33 roundabout in The Plains will experience lane shifts. Estimated completion: Aug. 1.
- U.S. 50 resurfacing: U.S. 50 between SR 278 (Vinton County) and SR 346 (Athens County) maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: Aug. 1.
- SR 56 realignment: Road is closed between Dogwood Ridge and Kimberly Road. Detour is SR 278 to East Canal Street (Old U.S. 33) to SR 691 to SR 56. Estimated completion: Oct. 1.
- U.S. 33 resurfacing: Lane closures will be in place from Nelsonville to Logan. Estimated completion: Oct. 15.
Athens
- Columbus Road Shared Use Path: Construction between the bike path spur across from Devil’s Kettle Brewery to the city corporation limits towards U.S. 33 is underway. Estimated completion: summer 2026.
- Athens utility relocation: Construction will begin on Carpenter Street then move to State Street. Estimated completion: fall 2026.
- SR 682/56 roundabout: Construction of a roundabout and sidewalks at the intersection continues. Estimated completion: November.
- South Green Drive sewer project: Sewer work near Peden Stadium is underway.
- Richland Avenue/Dairy Lane sewer project: Utility work is scheduled July 18-28.
- Marching 110 practice field project: Construction activity is expected July 1-14.
- Heritage College/Translational Research Center project: Construction-related impacts are expected through Aug. 15.
Albany
- Reynolds Ave., Blizzard Lane and Hamill Road will be closed daily for contractor work updating the electricity infrastructure in the village until further notice.
Amesville
- Pedestrian safety project: Begins June 22 in the Village of Amesville. Flaggers will maintain traffic on SR 329/SR 550. Estimated completion: Sept. 1.
- County Road 94–Kuhns Road will be closed indefinitely between the intersections of CR 37–West Kasler Creek Road and CR 99–Robinson Road due to an undermined culvert. A plan for repair is in the works.
Nelsonville
- Utility pole replacements: Chestnut Street, Poplar Street and Canal Street will be impacted by AEP construction, including traffic interruptions around work areas. Estimated completion: Nov. 30.
- Nelsonville Public Square partially closed: The east side of the Public Square is closed and barricaded to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic from the Dew House to the end of Rhapsody restaurant until further notice.
New Marshfield
- Sewer project: Construction began June 8 and is expected to continue for approximately one year.
