Athens SWCD accepting orders for 2026 tilapia/fish sale

ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio – Athens Soil and Water Conservation District is accepting orders for the 2026 Tilapia / Fish sale.  Tilapia are a safe and cost effective alternative for pond weed control.  They eat algae, duckweed, watermeal, milfoil, and other undesirable pond vegetation.

Tilapia general information:
· Recommended stocking rate is 20 lbs. to the acre
· Approximately 4″ – 7” in length at pickup
· Reaching 12” – 14” in length by fall
· Reproduce every 21 days
· Will not withstand cold (winter) temperatures

To order, complete the order form below, and return to the Athens SWCD office with payment, no later than June 26th. The fish will be delivered to the Athens SWCD office, 69 S. Plains Road, The Plains, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30.  You must pick up your orders at this time!
