Once upon a time, after a mighty summer storm, a water sprite washed up on the shores of the Athens County Dog Shelter. Not wanting humans to see her true form, the water sprite turned into a beautiful dog with half of a handlebar mustache. The kind staff of the shelter marveled at her luxuriously soft coat and warm personality but couldn’t place her breed. They named her Faith. As the shelter filled up with dogs in need, a kind human and their two dogs offered their home to Faith, until she could find a permanent place to stay. The dogs loved to play with her and Faith was overjoyed when a wading pool appeared in the yard. Faith’s magical story is far from over.
