NELSONVILLE, Ohio – The City of Nelsonville has started a free brush chipping and mulch program to help residents remove tree limbs, branches and shrub limbs and branches from their property. Additionally, the city is providing the woodchips/mulch produced free to the public for use in maintaining their property.
Tree limbs, branches and shrub limbs and branches can be dropped off year-round, 7 days a week. The drop off area is located behind the Street Utility Office, on the right side of the road.
Program Guidelines:
- This program is not for use by commercial landscaping and tree companies.
- Tree or shrub debris must be brought to the City Building; there is no pickup service.
- Residents are responsible for unloading brush and loading woodchips/mulch into their vehicles.
- Tree or shrub branches and limbs must be no greater than 9 inches in diameter.
- Residents will need to bring their own shovels and containers to load woodchips/mulch.
- Woodchips/mulch are a first come first served product. The woodchips/mulch are a byproduct and not a stocked item.
The City of Nelsonville does not guarantee woodchips/mulch against pesticides or disease. Use the product at your own risk.
