MILLFIELD, Ohio –Linda Christine Kasler Thornton, age 71, of Millfield, Ohio, passed away July 4, 2026, at her residence, Millfield, Ohio.
She was born on September 14, 1954, in Athens, Ohio, to Melvin Kasler Sr. and Dorothy Lyons Kasler. She attended Athens High School; loved thrift store shopping; was the yard sale queen; enjoyed soap operas; loved collecting Elvis Presley items.
Surviving is her daughter Lavetta Thornton of Millfield; brothers Melvin (Barb) Kasler Jr. of Hollister, Gary Kasler of Millfield; sisters Carolyn Snyder of Lancaster, Pam Kasler of Pomeroy; cousins Melissa, Brad, James, Christopher, Haley, Nicki, Heather.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harry Thornton who passed away in 2003; three-day-old son Richard G. Thornton; brother Steve Kasler; brother-in-law Tom Snyder; and grandmother Margaret Lyons.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday July 14, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio. Burial will be in Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield, Ohio.
Calling hours will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the funeral home to help with Linda’s funeral expenses.
