ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio – The City of Athens is helping Athens County Job & Family Services spread the word about the Senior Emergency Assistance (SEA) Program, a grant-funded program providing financial assistance to older adults in our community.
The program provides up to $1,000 per year in assistance to eligible Athens County households. Applicants must be Athens County residents with at least one adult in the household who is 60 years of age or older.
Assistance may be used for essential needs including mortgage or rent payments, property taxes, insurance, utilities, necessary home repairs, appliances, furniture, pest control, and certain cleaning products and equipment.
Residents interested in applying should download and complete the Senior Emergency Assistance Application Packet attached to this announcement. The packet includes application instructions, a list of eligible services and items that should be reviewed and signed, and the application form.

Applicants should answer all required questions, list everyone currently living in the household, provide the requested documentation related to the assistance being sought, and sign and date the application. Incomplete applications may be denied.
Completed applications may be submitted to the Athens County Department of Job & Family Services, 13183 State Route 13, Millfield, OH 45761. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and funds are limited.
