MCCONNELSVILLE, Ohio – Edgar L. Hampton Jr., 65, of McConnelsville, passed away Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, at his residence. Born June 12, 1961, in Nelsonville, he was the son of the late Edgar L. Hampton Sr. and Ruth E. Judson Hampton.
He is survived by a son, Edgar L. (Terri) Hampton III of Texas; grandchildren, Alexis, Destiny, Tony, Cameron, Samuel, Austin, and Charlie; sisters, Debbie (Lee) Newburn of Chesterhill, Linda (Randy Sr.) Campbell of McConnelsville, and Gina (Anees) Khan of Circleville; a sister-in-law, Dee Hampton of Lancaster; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Gary Hampton.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with Pastor Mike Wells officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Morgan County. A visitation will take place on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
