Village of Albany park ribbing-cutting to be held Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026

ALBANY, Ohio – The Albany Village Council Grants, Parks and Recreation & Facilities Committee will host a ribbon-cutting event at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, at the Albany Village Park, 1956 Broad Street, Albany, Ohio, to celebrate improvements that have been made to the Village Park with funding provided by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources NatureWorks grant.

The grant has enabled the Village to purchase and install new play equipment for the park in addition to placing safety mulch in the older and newly expanded play area. The recent work has also includes a newly made ADA access ramp to the play area. Earlier this summer Village Council approved the placement of a porta pot in the Village for visitor convenience during the summer months. This park and playground is often used by local village parents, grandparents and children who can easily walk to its location. A previous grant in 2025 enabled the improvement of the Village Park’s appearance with the planting of pollinator shrubs and the refurbishing of some benches and a garden swing.

All are invited to attend the ribbon-cutting.  Light refreshments will be served.
