9-19-26, neutered australian shepherd mx, 4yo, 46#, FOUND/ABANDONED Columbus Rd, Athens

True to his Greek god namesake, stunning Australian Shepherd mix Zeus has a legendary origin story.  Left behind at the Days Inn in Athens, he arrived at the shelter feeling understandably confused, anxious, and withdrawn. Thanks to the help of our patient volunteers, this playful boy is ready to rule Mount Olympus (or your couch). Zeus is a textbook working and herding dog, which means he is incredibly smart, active, and obsessed with playing fetch. And get a load of those striking, multi-colored eyes! His beautiful case of heterochromia will will hypnotize you into 20 more “one more rounds” of tossing the ball.  Zeus needs an adopter or foster who has the patience to earn his trust, and then challenge the mental and physical needs that he’s hardwired with. If you’re ready to strengthen your throwing arm for this head-turner, schedule a meet by calling 740-593-5415. Not ready to adopt but want to help him burn off some energy? Zeus is also available to foster. Apply at www.fosathens.com/volunteer.
