The threat of severe weather has prompted several closures and cancellations.
All Athens County offices closed at 2 p.m., including the dog shelter, the Athens County Board of Developmental Disabilities, and Athens County Job & Family Services.
The Athens Community Center closed at 2 p.m.
All Holzer Health System clinics closed at 3 p.m.
School cancellations:
- Athens Middle School and Athens High School: all after-school events, meetings and practices
- Alexander Local Schools: All after-school and evening events and sporting contests
- Beacon School: Dismissed at 2 p.m., all after-work and after-school activities
