Bruce Edgar DeGarmore, 72, of Glouster passed away Thursday Aug. 22, 2024, at his residence. Born Nov. 25, 1951, in Columbus, he was the son of the late William Nelson and Freda Giffin DeGarmore. He retired from Don Wood Toyota after 28 years as a mechanic. Bruce was always willing to lend his knowledge and expertise of auto mechanics to those in the community. He was an avid Ohio State football fan, race fan, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his lifetime partner, Karen Wemmer of Glouster; two sons, Ryan (Ashley Rice) DeGarmore of Jacksonville and Jacob (Miranda Dykes) DeGarmore of Buchtel; step-children, Michelle Jordan of Glouster and Michael Bobo of The Plains; grandchildren, Suzanna Rice-DeGarmore, Robert Rice-DeGarmore, Hunter DeGarmore, Walker DeGarmore, and Riley DeGarmore; step-grandchildren, Clarissa Kempton, Kyle Riley and Tori Kempton; a brother, David (Lois) DeGarmore of Virginia; two sisters, Debra and Karen DeGarmore; special friends, Clarence Bowers, Carl McPherson, and Jack Gould; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susan A. Williams DeGarmore.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday Aug. 26, 2024, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with Jon Hanning officiating. Interment will be in the Glouster Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
