MILLFIELD — Clarence Leedy, 93, of Millfield, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2023,  at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster. Born May 7, 1929, in Knott County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Kelly Leedy and Sue Johnson Leedy.

He was an equipment operator for the City of Athens for over 30 years. He was a former member of the Oakgrove Wesleyan Church, Nelsonville. He enjoyed making items out of wood and tinkering with other projects.

Clarence is survived by four daughters, Donna (Roger Edwards) Camire of Millfield, Judy (David) Clark of Athens, Betty Barnes of Guysville, and Barbara Drake of Nelsonville; a son, Bill Leedy of Barlow; a daughter-in-law, Carol Leedy of Millfield; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved dog, Baby, and his cat,  Elsa.

Beside his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Della Frances Durfee Leedy; a son, Jerry Leedy; a granddaughter, Tracy Hernandez Baeza; a grandson, Glene Edward Hickman; three sisters, Essie Hall, Alice Chetamon and Virgie Johnson; and three brothers, Roy Leedy, Bufford Leedy and Kelly Leedy, Jr.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens, with Pastor Stan West officiating. Burial will be in Augustine Cemetery, Dover Township. Friends may call Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service. Following the service there will be a gathering at The Plains Community Center, 65 Connett Rd. The Plains.
