Conrad Zimmerman

ATHENS, Ohio –– Conrad Wesley “Hank” Zimmerman, age 84, of Athens, died Sunday morning, June 29, 2025, at his home following a 3 year battle with cancer. Born July 19, 1940, in New Marshfield, he was the son of the late Leonard “Red” Zimmerman and Flossie Davis Zimmerman.

He attended Waterloo High School. He was employed at several occupations including Abex, Corp., delivering milk, training standard bred horses, and as a warehouse worker. He and his family moved to Summerfield, Florida in 1984 returning to Athens in 1992. He operated a homegrown produce stand on The Plains for 25 years, where he was known as “The Tomato Man.” He also enjoyed buying and selling antiques and fishing. He attended the Chauncey Church of God.

Conrad is survived by a daughter, Lynn (Todd) Farnsley of Oklahoma City, OK; two sons, Ray Zimmerman of Athens and Robert (Kristie) Zimmerman of Millfield; eight grandchildren, Kayla Simpkins, Ashley Hancock, Ma’Kenna Zimmerman and her fiancé Christian Wooten, Kelsey (Matthew) Stocker, Payden Farnsley, Conner Zimmerman, Wesley Farnsley, and Kaitlyn Farnsley; three great grandchildren, Caden Zimmerman, Olivia Wooten and Everett Hancock; and a brother, Tom Zimmerman of New Marshfield.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Donna “Sue” Wade Zimmerman, who passed away October 24, 2022; a daughter, Kathy Marie Simpkins; a son, Mark Allen Zimmerman; and a grandson, Kody Zimmerman.

Funeral service will be conducted 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Gary Alton officiating. Friends may call Tuesday 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday 2:00 p.m. until time of service both at the funeral home.
