Curtis Lee Jago

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2023, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster–Bishopville.

Curtis Lee Jago, 81, of Amesville passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023.

He is survived by his wife, Myra; daughter Wendi Ring; a son, Mick; stepchildren Jason (Terri) Hixson, Georgi (Joe) Wolfe, Adam (Angela) Hixson and Jamie (Donna) Hixson; grandchildren Kaitlyn (Eli) and Kamryn (Ryan); stepgrandchildren Michael (Abby), Randy, Emma, Lily, Cavin, Taige, Ryder, Brayden and Aubrey; great-grandchildren Louise, Maryalice, Ency and Zachary; a brother, Rick (Sue Baker) Jago; nieces Amy,
Suzie, Lisa, and Jennifer; his traveling cohort, Toni Holdcroft and buddy Bryan Jago; and too many cousins to list.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Aldean (Wells) Jago; his wife and mother of his children, Jane (Landis) Jago; and a brother, Randy Jago.

Curt spent 23 years in the U.S. Navy. He was a St. Mary’s County sheriff’s deputy and an Athens County 911 operator. His love and devotion to his family was unparalleled. He loved God, his country, cruising (traveling of any kind, really), poker and slots. He was an adamant supporter and defender of veterans, the flag and his grandkids. He will be missed more than he ever could have imagined.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2023, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster–Bishopville, with Jerry Marang officiating. A military service will be conducted by the U.S. Navy and the combined color guard unit. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
