David A. Schoonover

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, April 21, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster–Bishopville. Visitation begins at 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

David A. Schoonover, 57, of Jacksonville passed away Monday April 17, 2023, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was born September 25, 1965, in Nelsonville.

David worked as a welder. He was a member of the Jacksonville Eagles, a social member of the Jacksonville VFW and a past member of 4-H. He enjoyed hunting, riding and racing four-wheelers and dirt bikes, building race cars, listening to country music, and having a good time with family and friends. David lived life to the fullest.

He is survived by a daughter, Rachael “Raina” Schoonover of Athens; a son, David Wesley Schoonover of Chauncey; his mother, Freda L. Balch of Millfield; a sister, Gloria (Dave) Matheny of Millfield; two brothers, Daniel Schoonover and Kenneth Balch II, both of Millfield; and a special friend, Mindy Keffer of Jacksonville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Balch.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2023, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster–Bishopville with Rick Seiter officiating. Visitation begins at 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
