Della Wells, 84 years old, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her residence in Jacksonville, Ohio on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.
Della (Hensen) was born on July 28th, 1939, to Louis and Katherine Murvay. She was a graduate of JT Highschool, had a career as a beautician and went on to retire after 40 years from Goodyear in Logan, Ohio.
Della was loved by so many; always on the run with her friends and family, going to dinner with her “goodyear girls” or her “logan gang”. She spent her days talking on the phone, spending time with her neighbors who became family, shopping, and bringing gifts to her great grand babies, Laynee and Caleb. She was a member of the Chillicothe Lighthouse Baptist Church, Jacksonville and Logan Senior Citizens, and the Jacksonville VFW. Della was an honorary employee of Fast Traxx Racing, although she wasn’t able to be out on the track watching her bonus grand babies, Mackenzi, Jayce, and Paizlyn, she was so involved and loved helping with the plaques and parties.
Della was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Katherine Murvay, her husbands, Dick Jago and Kenneth Wells, her siblings, Bill and Joy Murvay, Charlotte Pinckney, Louis Murvay Jr, and Lois Shifflet, her children Robert and Shane Jago, her grandson Adam Jago, and several lifelong friends.
Della is survived by her daughter-in-law Sharon (Bill) Bycofski, granddaughter Allie Jago (Jimmy) Bateman, many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and so many special friends in her life who she was fortunate to have remained close with.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday December 21, 2023, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville. Inurnment will be at the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster. A visitation will take place on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
