Dog of the Week: Chief

9-19-25, male german shepherd mix, ~1-2yo, 70#, FOUND w/Bitty on Mine Rd, Carbondale.

Chief is a 2yo German Shepherd reporting for duty!  An internationally renowned crime-fighter and spy, Chief specializes in traffic control and treat-theft.  Chief recently brought a ring of string cheese thieves to justice while monitoring the current roundabout construction around Athens. This has earned him local and national respect, including a chance to speak at the Wisconsin String Cheese and Dairy Farmers conference on security. While he takes his duties seriously, Chief also enjoys the simple things, like playing fetch in the yard and butt scratches. He’s looking for a new assignment – could that be you?

To meet Chief, call The Athens County Dog Shelter at 740-593-5415. If you cannot adopt, please consider fostering. You can fill out an application at https://www.fosdathens.com/foster
