If you ask volunteers about Links, you will get an earful. That is because he excels at making you laugh and is also clearly the most handsome dog at the shelter. In short, Links is everyone’s favorite.
Links is an approximately 1-year old Coonhound and he is all personality. He is in what you might call the “toddler years” where he will occasionally throw tantrums (hello scream bark) if he doesn’t have your full attention or snag a stray blanket or toy as he is walking by just because he can. Mostly Links is learning that affection is not in short supply and that helps him feel safe and secure. When you give him pets and love, he leans in tight, closes his eyes, and sighs with contentment.
Links is still a big puppy, but he has so many wonderful qualities already. He is a superstar with other dogs, reading their behavior and adjusting his to match. When he meets a crazy dog, he gives the funniest expression as if to say “wow, this one is unhinged.” He also walks very well on the leash.
Links is truly one of a kind and will guarantee a lifetime of fun. To meet him, Call The Athens County Dog Shelter at 740-593-5415. Cannot adopt? Consider fostering. You can fill out an application at: www.fosdathens.com/foster
