Donnie Michael Standley, 70 of Glouster, passed away August 3, 2026, at his residence. Born November 11, 1955, he was the son of the late Donald W. and Helen Bendervich Standley. He retired from Meigs Mine #2. He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Jacksonville Eagles, and a social member of the Jacksonville V.F.W.
Donnie loved riding his Harley-Davidson and working in the coal mine. He cared deeply for the people he worked alongside and missed that part of his life after retiring. He enjoyed watching old Westerns on television and often said, “They don’t make shows like they used to.” Donnie also loved driving the back roads around town with a Diet Pepsi in hand, a cigarette, and his music playing as loudly as possible. You could always hear him coming long before he reached his destination. Donnie loved life, nature, and the outdoors. He would call family members whenever deer appeared in his yard. He also loved the Lord and spoke often of his faith, sharing his belief that Jesus promised him a different life and trusting that God’s word was true.
He is survived by his children, whom he loved dearly, Jessica Standley and Isaac Standley and his fiancée, Miranda Pyka; a brother, Stephen (Missey) Standley, sisters, Peggy (Steve) Miller, Mary Ann (Scott Richards) Standley, and Paulette (Randy) Ward; special friend and the mother of his children, Debra (Dave) Mayles.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Rita M. and Tom Downs.
